Calumet Woman Run Over in Minnesota
A young woman from Calumet is dead after being run over by a semi in Minnesota.
And police there say she may have intentionally walked in front of the rig.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the victim is 18–year–old Holly Bekkala of Calumet.
The accident happened shortly before 7 Central time Monday night in Rush City, Minnesota.
That’s about 50 miles north of St. Paul.
Police say Bekkala left her vehicle in a rest area on Interstate 35 and walked onto the highway.
A Canadian man driving an 18–wheeler hit Bekkala with his rig and killed her.
The State Patrol says evidence they’ve collected indicates Bekkala meant to cross in front of the truck.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
