Marquette Country CVB Invests in ‘Pure Michigan’
The beaches in Michiagn are a big tourism draw.
Governor Rick Snyder will make an announcement about the ‘Pure Michigan’ tourism campaign tomorrow afternoon.
But the Marquette Country Convention and Visitors Bureau is trying to find the best places to spend half a million dollars on tourism promotion next year.
And later this year, it’ll do something it’s never done before.
The bureau is investing money in the state’s ‘Pure Michigan’ campaign for the first time.
The investment will cover this fall and winter, and next spring and summer.
Marquette Country executive director Pat Black says the investment is $60,000, and right away it will place Marquette County on the top of the homepage of Travel Michigan’s website.
Black says the site is one of the most heavily-trafficked tourism websites in the country.
Travel Michigan will also visit in late June or July to shoot video and pictures for ‘Pure Michigan’ signs and TV commercials.
When they arrive, the Marquette Country marketing think tank we mentioned on ABC 10 last night will greet them.
Pat Black says she also recently signed a contract to put Marquette county in the USA Today Travel Guide.
The area will rub elbows with Yellowstone National Park and other prominent destinations.
