Kingsford Dentist Suspended
MAY 19, 2011 – The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), has immediately suspended the dentistry license of Robert J D’Amour, D.D.S., of Kingsford based on his conviction in the United States District Court, Western District of Michigan, Northern Division.
On October 8, 2010, Amour was convicted of one felony count of Distribution of Hydrocodone. As a result, D’Amour was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 14 months, to be followed by supervised release with conditions for a period of three years, and ordered to pay a $100.00 assessment and a $10.000.00 fine.
On May 13, 2011, LARA issued an order summarily suspending D’Amour’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional upon the conviction of a felony, a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of two years, or a controlled substance-related conviction.
