Building is all in a day’s work at a delta county furniture store.

Last night, we looked at the beginnings of Cretens Furniture and it’s strong family ties.

Tonight, how they’ve weathered the recent economy.

Cretens Furniture in Perkins is a family-run operation with 8 employees.

When the economy softened over the past few years, the store actually got stronger.

They reached out to customers who were embracing the line of rustic pieces.

And store manager Breanna Cretens says there were plenty of those customers — enough to sustain them at a time when many other stores have been struggling.

Everything at Cretens Furniture is manufactured on-site, in the Lower Peninsula or in Wisconsin.

Pre–made furniture, in addition to custom pieces, are available.

The store opened in 1979.
