NMU Track and Field Ranked No. 17

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University indoor track and field team climbed into the top 25 of the United State Track Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll this week. The Wildcats are ranked No. 17 this week. NMU is also ranked third in the Midwest Region behind Grand Valley State and Ashland.

Three Wildcats are ranked nationally in individual events. Bailey Franklin is tied for fifth in the high jump, ninth in the triple jump and 16th in the pentathlon. Jaime Roberts is sixth in the pole vault and Catherine Angelis ranks 26th in the 60m dash.

NMU is ranked in the top five individually in eight regional events. Catherine Angeli is first in the 55m dash and third in the 200m dash. Bailey Franklin is first in the triple jump, second in the high jump, fifth in the 60m hurdles and fifth in the pentathlon. Jamie Roberts is third in the pole vault and Samara White is fourth in the 60m dash.

The Wildcats are off until Feb. 25 when they travel to University Center, Mich. to compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
