Hit-and-Run/Suicide Call Case Returns to Court
The Menominee man charged with a fatal hit-and-run accident is due back in court tomorrow for his preliminary exam.
38–year–old Richard Jacques is facing charges from accidentally running over a friend of his.
According to State Police from the Stephenson Post, Jacques told them he ran over 41–year–old Brett Ingram of Menominee on December 18th in Lake Township.
Once Jacques realized Ingram was dead, Jacques is said to have put Ingram’s body in his van and drove to a home in Mellen Township.
When Jacques made a suicide threat the next day, police found Ingram’s body in the van.
Jacques is charged with three offenses — failing to stop at the scene of an at–fault accident resulting in death, failing to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death and removing a dead body without the medical examiner’s permission.
