Finlandia\’s Kara Rastello named to the Association of Division 3 Independents women\’s volleyball 1st team
Hancock, MI. — December 14, 2010: Finlandia University junior middle
blocker Kara Rastello (Houghton, MI.) was named to the 2010 Association of Division III Independents Women\’s Volleyball 1st Team. She led the entire AD3I in kills per game average (4.37) and blocks per game average (1.16). Rastello also finished sixth overall in digs per game average (3.62) and eighth in hitting percentage (.252). Rastello was also recognized as an Honorable Mention selection in 2008 and a 2nd team honoree in 2009 for Head Coach Mary Kaminski. In addition to the AD3I accolades, Rastello is Finlandia\’s career record holder in several offensive and defensive statistical categories. Kara also excels in the classroom, majoring in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Finlandia. She is the daughter of Jon and Karen Rastello.

independent institutions that have joined together to recognize
student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted
postseason championship competition.
