Gas Prices Jump 17 Cents
Gas prices in Michigan are up significantly this week.
AAA Michigan says the current statewide average for regular unleaded gas is up to $2.99 a gallon.
That’s a 17-cent jump from last week and 40 cents more than what it cost this time last year.
The lowest gas prices in the state are in the Traverse City area, where a gallon of self-serve regular fuel will cost you $2.96.
The highest prices among the areas that AAA surveys aren’t in Marquette, like they usually are.
This time, they’re in the Saginaw/Bay City/Midland area at $3.03.
AAA Michigan is based in Dearborn and surveys 2,800 gas stations around the state every day.
