Longtime Marquette Cop Retires
A well-known member of the Marquette Police says his final goodbyes to the city this afternoon.
Residents stopped by City Hall to say goodbye to Henry Wright, a 20-year veteran of the city police who retired two and a half weeks ago.
A steady stream of people of all ages stopped by city hall to congratulate Wright on his retirement.
He began working in parking enforcement and later became the city’s animal control.
Wright says it was a great experience to work for city residents for two decades and it’s one he’ll miss a great deal.
His now-former colleagues with the Marquette Police presented him with a special retirement gift — a recliner he can use as he watches his favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints, on TV.
