Tech\’s Hojnacki Tabbed GLIAC Player of the Week
BAY CITY, Mich. — Michigan Tech men’s basketball player Mike Hojnacki (Milwaukee, Wis./New Berlin Eisenhower) has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Week for his performance in three games last week.
Hojnacki averaged 20.3 points and shot 71.9 percent from the field in three games last week. He notched 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 94-69 win over Finlandia Tuesday (Nov. 23). The 6-7 forward totaled 19 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 63-61 loss at Minnesota State Mankato Friday (Nov. 26). He finished the week with 22 points and seven rebounds at UW-Parkside Sunday (Nov. 28), with 18 of his points coming in the second half. Hojnacki is averaging 19.3 points per game—second most in the GLIAC.
Michigan Tech owns a 5-1 men’s basketball record heading into GLIAC play this weekend. The Huskies travel to face arch rival Northern Michigan Saturday (Dec. 4) in both teams’ league opener.
