Alpha Fire Burns 129 Acres
The DNRE says wildfire danger is right back to where it was before last week’s snow.
A good example of that showed up over the weekend in Iron County, with a fire burning up nearly 130 acres.
The DNRE says it started at about 3 Central time Saturday afternoon near Carney Dam in Alpha.
They say a nearby landowner was burning debris outdoors and let the fire get out of control.
No one was hurt.
Fire crews from Alpha, Crystal Falls and Iron River joined the DNRE, as well as the Wisconsin DNR.
