Bar Destroyed by Overnight Fire

A bar in southern Marquette County recently targeted by thieves is destroyed in an overnight fire.

It happened at Gary’s Knotty Pine Bar on County Road 426 in Arnold.

Calls about the fire started to come in at about 4:30 this morning.

Those callers said the bar was already engulfed in flames.

The blaze was still smoldering at mid-afternoon and didn’t leave very much of the building behind.

There’s no word yet on a possible cause.

State Police from the Negaunee Post say the Wells Township Fire Department has asked them to get the Fire Marshal involved.

Someone broke into the bar back on March 10th and stole about 100 bottles of liquor from the business.
