February is Frantic Local Tax Time
We’re in the middle of tax season, and that always means a busy time for preparers, especially with some changes taking effect this year.
Of course, many of us wait until the last minute to do our taxes.
But Jim Heikkinen of U.P. Tax & Accounting in Marquette says February is his busiest month.
And this year is living up to that — he calls February a bit crazy so far.
There are plenty of new and expanded tax credits available for 2010.
Heikkinen says the new credits have meant much larger refunds for many taxpayers he’s seen this year.
As always, the deadline to file is just over 2 months away on April 15th.
