Roundhouse Land Deadline
It’s not any of the pieces of Founders Landing.
But the Marquette City Commission wants to get things moving on a different piece of land it’s been trying to sell.
It’s the old Roundhouse property next door to the Marquette DPW facility.
The City Commission voted last night to force the hand of local developers to make something happen there.
If Seventh Street Development, LLC doesn’t move forward on the Roundhouse land within 30 days, the city will give other developers a shot at the property instead.
Various proposals have been floated for the land in the last 3 years.
Most involve a combination of residential and commercial space.
But some also include affordable housing, and one proposal called for a new federal courthouse.
