Arraignment in Ishpeming Murder Case
An Ishpeming man is arraigned today in District Court on charges of 2nd-degree murder.
46-year-old Leslie Bushong appeared in the courtroom by video conferencing equipment from the Marquette County Jail.
The murder-2 charge means Bushong could see up to life in prison if he’s convicted.
Bond was set at $500,000.
He’s accused of murdering 51-year-old Wayne Perry of Ishpeming.
Police found Perry unconscious at Bushong’s house on West Johnson Street last Tuesday night.
Perry died at Bell Hospital.
Police originally thought it was an overdose of some kind.
But an autopsy on Perry revealed head injuries that weren’t visible to the naked eye.
Police arrested Bushong in Ishpeming Township on Friday.
He’ll be back in District Court 2 weeks from now for his preliminary exam.
