Ishpeming Meets Manager Candidates

The Ishpeming City Council gets a chance to see the faces of the final candidates for the vacant city manager position.

One of the finalists dropped out, but the council spent several hours interviewing the final 4 candidates.

They are Jered Ottenwess, a Michigan native now from Trenton, Florida; Shane Bolley from downstate Bath; Richard Wollangk from Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and current Marquette Township Manager Randy Girard.

Interim Manager and Police Chief Jim Bjorne says the council will meet again Wednesday at 3pm to further discuss who each member deems the most qualified to lead the city.

The City Council hopes to have a new permanent manager in place by mid-to-late February.
