Holiday Mailing Rush
With Christmas just a few days away, mail carriers of all kinds are frantically busy nationwide.
Generally, the last 2 Mondays before Christmas are the busiest shipping days of the year.
And for Marquette’s UPS store, business was booming, as expected.
Mike Lynch owns the UPS stores in Marquette and Escanaba.
He says that with more of us on tight budgets than previous years, customers are sending lighter loads for cheaper costs.
Although customers are shipping lighter loads, Lynch says this year has been good for his stores as a whole, unlike others under the bridge.
He says he’s heard of UPS stores in the Lower Peninsula struggling to stay afloat.
Lynch says if you still have gifts left that you need to ship, today was the last day you could use ground shipping.
But if you need those gifts delivered by Christmas, you still have 3-day select, 2nd-day air or overnight as your options.
