Ski Areas Starting to Open
Now that the first storm of the winter has hit the area, some of us have been working on the cleanup.
But for those who love winter outdoor sports, the snow couldn’t get here quickly enough.
Skiers and snowboarders finally get to hit the slopes — today was Opening Day for the season at Marquette Mountain.
The mountain was busy with people glad to put the fresh powder to good use.
For many skiers, it was tough to wait longer than usual.
The warm temperatures that we had delayed Opening Day for 2 weeks.
Skiers we spoke with today told us this snow cover is as good as they could have asked for, and that they’re chomping at the bit to hit the slopes after not being able to do it at all in November like they usually can.
Marquette Mountain will be open every day through Sunday from 10 to 5.
Then they open again starting next Thursday.
