Spread Eagle Marine Fraud Charges
A man living just across the state line from Iron Mountain pleads not guilty to selling the titles of boats he didn’t own.
52-year-old Gary Mannigel used to own and run Spread Eagle Marine in Spread Eagle.
He’s pleaded not guilty in Circuit Court to a dozen fraud-related charges — 4 counts of theft of movable property, 2 counts of theft in a business setting, 2 counts of transfer of someone else’s personal property, 2 more of issuing worthless checks and 2 counts of misdemeanor theft.
Those charges are said to have happened in 2007, 2008 and this year.
Mannigel’s bond is $50,000, and he has a pre-trial conference set for February 18th.
