Baraga Terex Handlers Plant Closing
A Baraga County manufacturing plant that expanded 2 years ago is now closing in less than 3 months.
Terex Corporation says they’re closing the Terex Handlers plant in Baraga.
The company says economic uncertainty is leading them to do this.
The company says the plant will shut down sometime between November 30th and December 11th.
All 90 people who work there are losing their jobs, and all the work they do is being moved to an existing plant in Moses Lake, Washington.
Just 2 years ago, Terex moved all its U.S. telehandler production to Baraga from that very same plant.
Terex says all the employees in Baraga will get severance benefits and outplacement help.
