Tax Breaks for W Fundraising

A Marquette County group looking to reopen the W in Gwinn just received some good news.

Community Hand-Up heard from an IRS Representative that the group will get recommended for 503(c)(3) status, making the group tax exempt. This means that donors can claim their contributions on their tax returns, and the group will be eligible for funding from several more grants and foundations.

So far, Community Hand-Up has raised slightly more than $25,000. The goal is at least $100,000.
