Quick Pass for Mackinac Bridge Tolls
Starting Monday, there’ll be a new way to avoid waiting in line at the toll booth at the Mackinac Bridge.
Quick Cards are going on sale.
Anyone buying one pays their fare — many fares, actually — ahead of time in exchange for a quick swipe of the card at the toll booths.
The cards will cost $90 up front.
And anyone reloading a card that’s low on funds will have to put at least $80 on it.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority is selling the Quick Cards at their office in St. Ignace.
The cards are valid for 5 years, and the Bridge Authority won’t give any refunds.
The cards are similar to the E-Z Pass that many states use to allow people to pay tolls quickly on major highways.
The Quick Cards are meant to be used by regular cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs that aren’t pulling a trailer.
