Tax Day is TEA Party Day

While most of us think of April 15th as Tax Day, some are making it TEA Party Day.

They’re protesting against increasing government spending and taxes.

The theme, TEA, stands for ‘Taxed Enough Already’.

Residents gathered outside the courthouses in Marquette, L’Anse, Escanaba and other U.P. communities to speak out against what they see as out-of-control government spending and growing debt.

About 125 people came out in Marquette.

Ordinary people are volunteering and organizing TEA Parties around the country.

Organizers brought a petition with them to get signatures and then send it to government officials.

There’s another tea party going on at 5:30 tonight near the Marquette Post Office.
