Police Prepare for Homecoming
Area police say they’re hearing about several possible places in the area where homecoming weekend celebrations may involve underage drinking.
This weekend is homecoming at Northern Michigan University.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says they’ve already been given some specific information about one large possible weekend party.
It’s expected to be somewhere in Tilden Township, and police are going to be ready for it.
NMU Public Safety and the Chocolay Township Police will join those patrols.
Every law enforcement agency in Marquette County will also be on alert if some extra help is called for.
It’s also homecoming weekend at Michigan Tech starting tomorrow, so agencies in the Copper Country may be looking at a similar situation.
