Habitat Director Mike Shimon Retires
On average habitat for humanity executive directors will spend about three years in the position. Mike Shimon is passing on the title after serving Marquette County for more than a decade. Over the last 13 years, Shimon has helped 68 families get homes throughout Marquette County. The joy and excitement that he experienced through the families as they achieved home ownership will be his greatest memory. Another accomplishment that shimon will take with him is the establishment of the Marquette County Habitat re–store. In his retirement Shimon hopes to spend more time with his family, especially traveling to see his grandson play basketball. As for the habitat for humanity, Linda Frey stepped in as their new Executive Director earlier this week.
