Reward offered in memorial vandalism case
HOUGHTON — The damage has been repaired, but police are still looking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for vandalizing a memorial in Houghton.
Officers from the Houghton Police Department say a private citizen has come forward to offer a $1,000 reward for the person who gives information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the parties responsible for the damage done at Veterans Park on July 1st. Early that morning, a Purple Heart monument was toppled over, and a plaque dedicated to those killed in action during World War II was nearly torn off.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houghton Police Department at (906) 482-5912.
