Second Skin’s Online Business

Yesterday, we introduced you to a Marquette business that’s seen exponential growth since using the Internet as a sales venue.

Down the street from that store, another company also joined the internet approach.

Second Skin is a dance company focusing on apparel for the arts.

Ten years ago, the company also went global with its website, offering dancers a chance to purchase their apparel with a click of the mouse.

Owner Greg Minguay isn’t surprised by President Obama’s push toward creating a more tech-savvy country.

He says since WiFi access became available in Marquette, the small company has been able to reach places it never would have thought possible based on its rural location.

Officials from the White House say they’ll be speaking to some businesses during the President’s visit.

But information on which companies those are is still up in the air.
