Vehicle a total loss after catching on fire
GLADSTONE — A vehicle is considered to be a total loss after becoming engulfed in flames early this afternoon.
Gladstone Public Safety was called out to the car fire on the 400 block of South 10th Street just after 1:00 p.m. When they arrived, the vehicle, a 2004 GMC Envoy, was on fire.
The exact cause of the fire is undetermined. The woman who owned the parked vehicle reported a strange smell coming from it right before it caught fire.
Firefighters also dealt with a small brush fire on the 800 block of 28th Street that was caused by some ashes from a fire pit.
No injuries were reported.
