Ford Motor Company awards local university student with scholarship
HOUGHTON — A Michigan Student is the recipient of a generous scholarship from Ford Motor Company.
The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship is awarded globally by Ford to students showing outstanding performance in academics, leadership, and community engagement.
The program is a $1 million fund with each scholarship worth $10,000. Ten students every year for ten years will be awarded. This year one of those students is Michigan Tech mechanical engineering student Michael Robinson.
“It’s quite an honor to receive it and know that I’m among the nation’s best leaders in engineering and that I have a promising career ahead of me in the automotive industry,” said Robinson.
Robinson plans on graduating Michigan Tech in December 2016. After that he will have a major decision on where to work. Ford is definitely on the short list of possible employers.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by potentially a future employer. I will definitely proceed to interview with them and look into potential job opportunities with Ford,” Robinson added.
