Dance studio chasses to a new location
NEGAUNEE — Location, Location, Location… A local dance studio opened a new location after the request of community members.
The UP Dance Academy held a ribbon cutting event today at their new location on Iron Street in Negaunee. The studio first opened in Kingsford and has since expanded.
Director and Owner of U.P. Dance Academy Kathrine Trempe says, “We started U.P. Dance Academy in 2012. We offer all dance styles – including acro and gymnastics, cheer, ballet, tap, modern, lyrical, musical theater – to all ages, two through adults. We do competitive and recreational classes.”
Parents, students and staff were all in attendance tonight to celebrate the new location.
“Oh, we’re so excited to be in Negaunee now. We’ve had a lot of requests to open in Negaunee. We’ve kind of waited until the right moment, and the right moment is here, so we’re excited to offer great classes with great instructors to the Negaunee town and all the kids here.”
Right after the ribbon cutting the owners have an open house until seven p–m for potential student to meet the teachers and register for classes.
