Groundbreaking technology revolutionizes backpacks
With summertime just around the corner, many U.P. residents will be heading outdoors to spend some time admiring Mother Nature.
For those people who intend to spend their days living out of a backpack, it’s important to have the right ‘pack’ on your ‘back.’ Backpacks come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and prices. In the end, the most important thing to do when buying a backpack is making sure that it fits your body properly.
“We have a special way to measure everyone that comes in to give them the proper size and then we can start looking at different Osprey products,” said Luke Olson of Osprey Packs. “We do have a product for everyone, but the most important thing that we emphasize is how the backpack fits. We want to make sure that it’s properly fit for every person that walks out the door.”
With advances in technology, there are backpacks on the market that help your body adjust to the warmer weather while you’re hiking.
“The new pack works to create airflow underneath the hip belt itself,” said Olson. “It also helps the torso in such a way that all of the weight is distributed throughout the entire torso of the pack, rather just on the hip belt and the shoulder harness. It’s a groundbreaking technology that actually ventilates your entire torso, rather than some of the other packs that have come out in the past that have just ventilated your back only.”
Osprey Packs range in price from $200 and up.
