Guilty Verdicts in John Stamos Blackmail Trial
Two Marquette-area residents are convicted of extortion in the John Stamos blackmail case.
24-year-old Allison Coss and 31-year-old Scott Sippola were found guilty today in U.S. District Court in Marquette.
The extortion case went to the jury just before 11 this morning.
Coss and Sippola were each found guilty of all three counts against them.
The pair was accused of trying to extort $680,000 from actor John Stamos involving allegedly-compromising photographs.
Federal prosecutor Maarten Vermaat says he’s gratified the jury saw the matter as he did — as a get-rich-quick scheme where the photographs Coss and Sippola claimed they had of Stamos using cocaine never existed.
Sentencing for Coss and Sippola has been set for October 8th.
They could each go to prison for up to nine years.
