Huskies prepare for season opener
HOUGHTON – The Michigan Tech Huskies begin their football season Thursday at Wayne State. This will be the second straight meeting for the Huskies against the Warriors.
Tech ended their 2013 season with a 28-21 win over Wayne State in Houghton. The Huskies have big expectations for this season, and according to head coach Tom Kearly, it all starts with week one.
“The expectations here are that we would like to play for a championship and we would like to play in the NCAA Playoffs,” said Kearly. “In the last nine years, we’ve won two championships and played in the NCAA Playoffs and three other times we’ve been alive on the last day with a chance to make it into the playoffs.”
The Huskies and Warriors are set to tangle Thursday at 7 p.m. Michigan Tech has won four of their last five games against the Warriors.
