Thanksgiving Travel
AAA Michigan is expecting about 1.2 million people in the state to travel for the holiday tomorrow.
The day before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest travel day of the year around the country.
For most of us, that means driving.
But quite a few go to an airport to fly.
If you’re taking to the skies, Sawyer Airport manager Keith Kaspari wants to remind you that the TSA’s ‘3-1-1’ rule for carry-ons from a few years ago is still in effect.
It’s no more than 3 ounces of any liquid or gel, in 1 quart-sized, clear plastic bag, in only 1 of the bags you bring on board with you.

But what about how busy the airport’s been?
The passenger load for today is lower than they expected.
But the weak economy has a lot to do with that because major airports are seeing the same problem.
The American Eagle flights for today are in the high 20s for an occupancy rate, but the Delta flights are in the upper 30s.
Kaspari says the passenger load for Thanksgiving Day itself is also looking to be a bit light.
But he’s expecting it to pick up again for Friday and the weekend.
