3 Laid-Off U.P. State Troopers Back to Work
You may remember the State Police laid off 100 troopers statewide this summer to save money.
More than half of them will go back to work soon.
55 of the 100 will be back on the job November 16th, the Monday after next.
Out of those 100 who got let go, 9 were from Upper Peninsula posts.
3 of those 9 are being recalled.
State Police District Headquarters in Marquette says 1 of the 2 laid-off troopers from the Calumet Post will be returning, along with the laid-off trooper from the L’Anse Post and the trooper the Munising Post had to let go.
And Michigan apparently has enough money in its coffers to keep them on the job.
State Headquarters in Lansing says they’ve gotten confirmation of that from the state treasury.
We’ll have more about this coming up Monday on UGN News at 5:30, 10 and 11.
