Trial Date Set in Baby Morphine Case
A Wisconsin woman who used to live in Iron County will go to trial in January on charges from the death of her infant daughter.
21-year-old Amanda Bodoh lived in Iron River before moving to Pelican, Wisconsin in early May.
The day after she moved, her 10-month-old daughter, Peyton Lonkoski, was found dead.
Young Peyton died of a morphine overdose.
Bodoh is charged with child neglect resulting in death.
The Iron County Prosecutor’s Office claims the neglect came from Bodoh allowing people that she knew were using drugs to care for her daughter.
Bodoh and her attorney tried to reach a plea bargain.
But it’s fallen through, so she’ll go to trial instead.
It’s scheduled to start in Crystal Falls on January 19th.
