Hancock School Groundbreaking
Hancock students get together with members of the school board to break ground on the new middle school.

Hancock Middle School should be settled into the new facility in time for the start of class next fall.
Despite the nearly $9 million price tag, the move will actually save money.
Closing the existing middle school will cut down dramatically on maintenance and energy costs.
It’s 90 years old, and until 1999 it used to be the high school.
School officials say the current high school was designed with the idea in mind of adding a middle school wing to it someday.
