Weather Forecast 3.17.14
Running out the door Monday morning was a chilly trot from the house to the car. Temps were below zero as we started off the work week, but gusty south winds helped to bring us back to the 20’s. Monday night prepare for skies to be mostly cloudy as temps drop off to the middle teens. Most will see light snow Monday except in our western zones where a winter storm watch is in effect until Wednesday evening. So in Gogebic, Ontonagon, and Houghton counties, expect 2 to 4 inches before Tuesday morning. Also, those breezy SE winds will continue around 10 to 15 mph bringing wind chills close to or below 0.
As we move into the day on Tuesday, clouds keep rolling by throughout the day bringing more snow with them. Highs break the 30 degree mark, with winds still gusty from the SE around 10 to 20 mph.
Expect more moisture, which will eventually lead to accumulations between 1 to 3 inches. Heavier snow occurs later during the night. Lows drop to the mid and upper 20’s with those of us east of M-41 seeing a chance of a wintry mix.
Wednesday will be a messy weather day for us with sleet, freezing rain, and snow. This will make for an interesting forecast, so I will keep you guys updated.
