Mackinac Bridge 2013 deer tally up by more than 30%
The 2013 firearm deer season is shaping up as a very strong one less than three days in.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority says that as of 3:00 p.m. Sunday, hunters had driven 438 deer south to the Lower Peninsula after taking them in the U.P.
That’s a 32% increase from the same time in 2012, when the authority had counted 331 deer.
The group updates its running tally of deer three times a day during firearm season.
