Fall driving safety reminders
Daylight Savings Time ends for the year this Sunday morning. To go along with the change in the amount of sunlight each day, MDOT has some safety reminders for Michigan drivers.
Fewer hours of daylight make pedestrians, bicyclists and schoolchildren more difficult for drivers to see. Glare from the rising or setting sun can also be a problem. MDOT wants drivers to remember that adjustments may be needed in the morning or late afternoon. A pair of sunglasses will help if it’s kept in your vehicle.
MDOT is also asking drivers to stay alert in active construction zones and to avoid speeding or distracted driving. The agency also has more tips for safe fall driving on its website.
