Two Ish. men arrested in torture case
Two Ishpeming men are in the Marquette County Jail on charges that they attacked two women and held them captive inside a business.
The Ishpeming Police say they are 43-year-old Jason David Sadowski and 65-year-old Charles Leroy Cope.
Sadowski is accused of one count each of solicitation of murder and first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and two counts each of torture, unlawful imprisonment and assault by strangulation.
Cope is charged with two counts of torture and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.
Police say two Ishpeming women were held captive in the basement of The Martial Way on Cleveland Avenue for more than four hours early Tuesday morning.
One of them called 911 from a cell phone shortly after 6:30 a.m.
The two women were allegedly physically assaulted and bound with duct tape to structural support posts in the basement of the business.
They have since been treated at Bell Hospital and released.
Police say Sadowski owns the business.
He’s being held without bond after his arraignment in 96th District Court.
Cope is being held on a $2 million bond, or $500,000 for each criminal count against him.
The two men have their preliminary exam scheduled for July 17th.
Police say they are still investigating the case.
