George Romney Fund grants for non-profits
There’s still time for non-profit organizations in Marquette County to apply for extra cash to help volunteers carry out their missions.
The United Way and the Marquette County Community Foundation have joined forces.
They’re offering $6,000 in grant money to help fund volunteer projects in the area.
The money comes from the George Romney Endowment Fund.
George Romney, Michigan’s governor for much of the 1960s, had a life-long passion for volunteering; the fund was established in his memory in 1996, the year after his death.
The deadline to apply is June 14th, and applications are available on the Community Foundation’s website.
