One cited in three vehicle Marquette Co. accident
The investigation continues into a three vehicle accident that occurred about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Marquette Township near the intersection of U.S. 41 and County Road HIA.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says an 86-year-old Marquette man driving a 2008 GMC Acadia pulled out of Lowe’s Home Improvement store into the path of a westbound 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 39-year-old Ishpeming woman.
Police say that, after the initial crash, the man’s vehicle was forced into the path of an eastbound 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by a 62-year-old Marquette woman.
The 86-year-old man was cited for “failure to yield the right of way.”
MediRide EMS transported the Ishpeming woman to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The other two drivers complained of neck and back soreness and sought their own treatment.
The Marquette Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
