Missing Ish. Twp. boy found safe
An eight-year-old boy from Ishpeming Township is safe after going missing for a short time Wednesday night.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says they were called out to the North Lake area of the township at about 8:30 p.m.
Police say the boy wandered away from his home while he was outside playing.
The boy is autistic and wears a life tracker device; the responding deputies used life tracker equipment of their own to find him.
He was found unharmed on the family’s property.
The Sheriff’s Department credits the ease of finding the boy to proper maintenance of his life tracker device by his family.
They say that maintenance involves replacing the battery in the device regularly and checking the status of the device frequently.
