RX take back day results

LANSING.  The Michigan State Police (MSP) today announced that 709 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at MSP posts across the state during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held on Saturday, April 27.

The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other local law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to provide a safe, convenient and responsible venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

  • Brighton – 120 lbs
  • Cadillac – 14 lbs
  • Calumet – 10 lbs
  • Caro – 30 lbs
  • Coldwater – 7 lbs
  • Flint – 4 lbs
  • Gaylord – 7 lbs
  • Gladstone – 21 lbs
  • Hart – 11 lbs
  • Houghton Lake – 10 lbs
  • Iron Mountain – 45 lbs
  • Jackson – 40 lbs
  • Lakeview – 10 lbs
  • Lansing – 33 lbs
  • Lapeer – 36 lbs
  • Metro – 28 lbs
  • Monroe – 18 lbs
  • Mt. Pleasant – 3 lbs
  • Negaunee – 90 lbs
  • Niles – 38 lbs
  • Paw Paw – 6 lbs
  • Rockford – 19 lbs
  • Sault Ste. Marie – 37 lbs
  • St. Ignace – 5 lbs
  • Tri-City – 30 lbs
  • Wakefield – 3 lbs
  • Wayland – 4 lbs
  • West Branch – 11 lbs

 

All 29 MSP posts participated in the one-day effort by serving as drop-off points for citizens to discard expired, unused and unwanted medications for destruction. The service was free and anonymous with no questions asked.
