Reaction to Afghanistan crash that killed 5 from Michigan
WASHINGTON – Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on the crash of a civilian cargo aircraft at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, on Monday that claimed the lives of seven crewmembers, including five from Michigan:
“Yesterday’s tragic air crash in Afghanistan is a reminder of the contributions civilians and contractors make to our efforts in Afghanistan, and that those contributions carry risks. Michigan’s thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the crash and their families.”
