Arctic Blast Color Dash
More than 250 people are signed up for a first–time event taking place tomorrow in Ishpeming.
The Greater Ishpeming–Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is splashing into the new year with the first-ever Arctic Blast Color Dash.
GINCC director Elizabeth Peterson says snowshoers will make their way though the Ishpeming Hills trails and get showered with different colors of powder each kilometer.
She says it’s more about fun than about competition; it won’t even be timed.
Snowshoes will be available free of charge from Wilderness Sports, but snowshoes aren’t mandatory.
The kids’ 1K event starts at 10 am, and the 5K begins at 11, with prize drawings at the end of each race.
Online registration is closed, but you can still register on–site at the Country Village RV Park at 9 am tomorrow.
