Cliffs' helps United Way
Cliffs Natural Resources, (NYSE: CLF) (Paris: CLF) announced today that Cliffs’ employees in Michigan have pledged $58,198 to the 2012-2013 Marquette County United Way campaign. Combined with a Company match of 50% of the amount pledged, the total amount contributed and pledged to the United Way is $87,297.
“The United Way assists many non-profit organizations in our community and our employees and the Company have always been generous and supportive of their efforts,” said Jennifer Huetter, district manager, public affairs for Cliffs Michigan operations. “We’re pleased to support the United Way and to help make a difference in the communities that surround our operations.”
The goal this year for the United Way annual campaign is $425,000. Cliffs’ donation and pledges of $87,297 accounts for more than 20 percent of that total.
“Once again, Cliffs Natural Resources and their employees have gone above and beyond in helping friends and neighbors through their support of the United Way of Marquette County campaign,” said Barbara Meyer, director of operations for United Way of Marquette County. “Cliffs Michigan employees truly know what it means to Live United and for that we are most grateful. United Way funded programs will be able to continue working to improve the lives of people in Marquette County as a result of their generosity.”
Donations to the United Way of Marquette County stay local and help various local non-profit organizations throughout the year.
