More charges in Calumet break-in
A suspect who led police on a brief chase following the break in of a party store in Calumet is now facing additional charges.
The Calumet Police Department arrested the 22 year old Calumet man on 3 felony charges of breaking and entering.
Police had been investigation the break in of Harter’s Party Store on Monday, another break in at the same party store on October 29th, and another break in at Louie’s Super Foods in Calumet on September 29th.
In all cases, substantial amounts of cigarettes and liquor were taken. In the most recent break in at Harter’s, more than $5,000 worth of merchandise was stolen including lottery tickets and firearms.
In a search of the suspect’s apartment, most of the items were recovered.
The suspect’s name has not been released pending his arraignment in 97th District Court.
