Great Lakes Research Center
Michigan Technological University has introduced its newest addition to an already-impressive campus.
The school held dedication ceremonies for the Great Lakes Research Center today along the waterfront in Houghton.
The three-story, 50,000-square-foot center features a boathouse for the University’s three research vessels and environmental monitoring buoy network, a complex of research laboratories and a public area that includes conference facilities and space for K-12 education.
The center cost more than $25 million, and the state covered roughly two-thirds of that amount.
